Occasionally we create content relevant to Essinova’s universe of intrigue but in unconventional ways. It is fun for us, and hopefully for you too.
Summer, 2011
As we say goodbye to the summer, I thought I’d share with you a somewhat off-topic interview, just for fun (if its relevance to Essinova is not immediate).
The interview was shot in Cascais, Portugal, on the last day of the 34th America’s Cup Inaugural World Series. My guest is the Chairman of China Team, one of the seven international sailing teams challenging Larry Ellison’s Oracle Racing, the Cup defender, in a series of world circuit races leading up to the final competition in September, 2013 in San Francisco.
While sailing doesn’t quite belong on Essinova, Mr. Wang Chaoyong would make a very fitting guest. A pioneer of venture capitalism in China, he’d been acclaimed as the “King of Investing” in China, before becoming the “Father of Sailing”. His venture firm, China Equity Group, invests in a wide range of high growth sectors, with Baidu (Google’s rival in China) being the highest-profiled success.
We discussed China Equity’s projects in water technologies, natural resources and healthcare, which will be published as videos in the next few weeks.
